Bias is not the opposite of learning, bias is the shape learning takes
"80% of students passed" vs "1 in 5 students failed", same facts, different feeling. That's the grind, felt from the inside.
Some bias is a smudge, a removable smear you can wipe off with cleaner data or better questions. Some bias is the grind of the lens itself, the built-in perspective that lets a system see anything at all.
A machine-learning model with zero bias would learn nothing. Generalisation is bias in the technical sense. That's why "remove all bias" is not a coherent goal; the real skill is telling the smudge from the grind.
AI writes in the calm, objective voice of neutral fact, but every word it produces is a situated construction shaped by one particular slice of the internet. Learning to hear that mismatch is the AI-confident move.
Bias is the shape learning takes. The task is never to remove the lens, it's to tell the smudge from the grind.
